Helps Team
A Deacon-Led Ministry
Cedar Crest is a big church with lots of physical needs that come up in our congregation.
The Helps Team is designed to provide short-term assistance to people in our congregation who have physical needs or are facing other challenges. Some of these needs include transportation to doctor’s appointments, moving and hauling, financial advice and counseling, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, basic home maintenance, and yard work.
Serving Those In Need
The Helps Team is available to assist those in our congregation who are currently in a season of need. The Deacons and the Helps Team look forward to being the hands and feet of Christ within our congregation.
However, with limited resources, we do encourage those in need to first think through some things biblically before reaching out.
- Is family able to help with these needs? (1 Timothy 5:3-4)
- Is your small group aware of these needs and if so, is the small group able to help? (Acts 2:42-47)
- As volunteers, we do not give or provide help for material gain. (Luke 6:34-35)
- Do you have the financial ability to bless someone by employing them to complete the required tasks? (Proverbs 11:25)

Become a Volunteer
The Helps Team relies on many volunteers across many different categories of service. We need the congregation’s partnership in providing this care for one another. If you haven’t already signed up to be a volunteer, please sign up!
Requests come in throughout the year and vary greatly in task and time commitment. Once we receive a request, a Deacon will reach out to the volunteers to see who is available to complete the request.
The time commitments vary but depending on the nature of the tasks you sign up for, you can expect 1-5 opportunities to serve per year that will come through your inbox. At that time, you can get more information or agree to complete the request!
