Becoming a Member
Membership is an important part of the local church. Membership is a formal way of committing to submit to your spiritual leadership as well as your brothers and sisters in the church.
To become a member of Cedar Crest you need to complete these steps:

Membership
Course and Application
Here at Cedar Crest, we consider membership a vital part of the church, which is why we have a membership course that covers topics ranging from the gospel, to the doctrinal beliefs of Cedar Crest, to the expectations of a member and to how you can use your spiritual gifts to serve the body. If you’d like to make this commitment, you can sign up for our next membership course. We offer this course three times a year in three different formats.
FALL – Wednesday evenings during Family night from 6:30 – 8 pm.
WINTER – Sunday mornings during Discipleship Institute from 8:45 – 9:45 am.
WEEKEND – Saturday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (lunch provided) and Sunday 11:30 am – 3:30 pm (lunch provided).
Next Course Dates
The next course will be on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm – 8pm, beginning September 18 (Room 43).
Note: You should not apply for membership unless you are in or have taken the membership class within the last year and the membership class teacher indicates that it is time to apply.
Membership
Transfer
If you would like to transfer your membership from another Bible Fellowship Church, please submit a transfer request. One of our pastors/elders will set up a time to meet with you to discuss your transfer, tell you about our church, answer any questions you may have, and assist you in acclimating to our church.
Note: You must have your current BFC church send us a formal letter (e-mail format is fine) stating your desire to transfer and indicating that you are a member in good standing. E-mails should be sent to memberandbaptism@cedarcrest.church
Baptism
Anyone who is seeking to become a member of Cedar Crest must have been baptized by immersion as a believer. If you have not, then you can indicate that on the membership application form.
Baptism is for those who are seeking to take the next step in their faith by publicly proclaiming their identification with Jesus Christ through baptism. Upon completion of the signup form, an elder will be in contact with you about setting up an interview to get to know you more as well as to explain and answer any questions you may have about baptism. Once approved, we will then set up a time for you to video record your testimony to be shown at the worship service on baptism Sunday.
Adults – fill out a baptism application for themselves.
Students (under 18) – Have a parent/guardian or mentor fill out an application to take the student through our baptism mentorship process. The student will still interview with two of our elders.
