Global Missions

Training, sending, supporting missionaries

1 mission, 2 contexts

Global missions can be done by sending missionaries to two contexts:

  • 1) Strengthening the church where it already exists or where there is already access to the gospel message among reached people groups (this is the vast majority of missions), or
  • 2) Establishing the church where it does not exist among unreached people groups.

WHERE TO GO?

Reached

Global missions among a reached people group involves strengthening a church (broadly) that already exists. We do this so they can effectively make disciples in their local context and mobilize believers to take the gospel into other contexts.

Unreached

We work among UnReached People Groups in order to preach the gospel where a church is not present and perhaps where people have never heard of the name of Jesus Christ.

Although we believe in both approaches, we are unapologetically focused on reaching the unreached, drawing from the Apostle Paul’s words in Romans 15.

“I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, but as it is written, 'Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”

Romans 15:20-21

A people group is an ethno-linguistic group with a shared identity based on language or ethnicity. It is the largest group within which the gospel can spread without significant barriers to understanding. A people group qualifies as unreached where less than 2% of the population identifies as Evangelical Christian.

short-term trips

Executed well, short-term trips can have a long-term impact. They support and encourage our missionaries on the ground. They expose our people to cross-cultural work and plant seeds for a future calling to missions. They also help supporters back home better know how to pray and hold the rope.

Our short-term trips include evangelistic initiatives, medical clinics, construction, and more.
